i searched and only found WTB threads

i have a 91 crx

but what i need to knwo is do i have to remove the window to put the new weather stripping on.. i didnt think i would but the clip thats on the stripping is under the windwo

i removed the old cracked one but the clip is still in there would i have to break the old one and have to kida angle the new one in

and its the outer weather stripping

help would be much appriciated

 

i have a headache now from trying to understand what you just wrote. please try to explain better.

the rear window are pretty easy. two screws on the trim panel and two more under that. then there are two screws at the back hinge, then they come right out. just pull the rubber seal off.

 

thats for a hatch back thoug i have a CRX and ther is corking inbetween the metal and window

 

sorry i only know hatches, so just sell it and get a hatch

anyone know how to remove/ install the weather stripping on the rear 1/4 window on a crx

 

c'mon nobody knows? i really dont want to remove the rear windows

To do it right you have to remove the quarter windows because of the clip. I replaced both sides on my 91 CRX without removing the window by cuting off the clip and triming some of the rubber chanelling on the inside, then used weather stripping adhesive to seal it. You should be able to get most of the stripping on without cutting much of the channeling (use some soapy water). Its just around the bend thats a problem. I have new moldings for the top and bottom of my hatch window but will have to remove the glass to do those right. Don't remove the old ones until your ready to replace them, like I did. Still haven't put them back on.

thanks... so your saying if i cut out that clip and use some silicone to make it stay in there nice it should work

bc i really dont want to remove the window i have nothing to get in there and cut out that silicone thats between the window and metal

 

Yeah just be careful not to cut to much of the channel away since that holds it to the glass edge, a better fit. I did and have a few places where it doesn't fit solid against the body. Make sure you clean out the old stripping/sealer real good. Test fit before you silicone. I used black adhesive like they use for windshields.

what did you use to get in ther to cut the window out?
