It's beginning to warm up in the NW and was wondering if any of you WA state/NW ITR enthusiasts would like to have an ITR-only meet? Strictly for DC2-R's.

I wouldn't mind scouting for a discreet location what not, then could propose a planned date for our meet.

All thoughts and opinions welcome

No job, no race. I decided to ditch work for my last year of school...guess that means no more track days, unless you're paying

 

I'm soooooo down.

Did everyone want to set something up private? As in everyone will PM each other time and location? Or did everyone just want to keep it open? I vote for something private for obvious reasons. Mid-June would be perfect for me as well.

Mister_Rob - Thanks for taking the initiative in getting the meet set up. All we need to do now is think of what we'll be doing. LOL

 

We can agree on a date here, location via PM.

As far as weekends go, the 16/17 or the 23/24 are the two I have in mind. I would prefer the 24th, only because it is a Sunday, which everyone usually has free, and the 17th is Father's Day, which doesnt exclude it, but could bring up time constraints, also it would be my Bday so I would be waking up late...very late...

i was actually thinking about that. we'll see what venues are available then we can privately PM each other on the plan.

but, mid to late june (after spring quarter for the folks who are in school) sounds good!



now on a more serious note, my R almost got peeled last night so just another reminder for you all to stay alert, as much as you all do already.

long story compressed into a few paragraphs:

last night about 9:00 PM i arrive at the Ballinger Commons apartments. i'm here to visit a co-worker who just came back from a one month vacation. i'm parked in a visitor space for about n hour/hr half then was on my way.

i drive about 50 yards out of the parking lot when the car starts to choke, spudder, then die while coasting at 20 mph. i keep trying to fire her back up but no luck. i'm now posted in the middle of the road and push the car another 30 yards under a street light.

the smell of gas building in the car. i hop out and see gas that had spilled/leaked all over the road from where i pulled out of the apartments. (checked fuel gauge and read @ 30 lbs)

a couple buddies show up w/ a truck thinking we might have to tow the car. we're checking underneath the car and the line was still drippin gas. we pop the fuel pump cover off and notice that somebody had physically disconnected my fuel, yet screwed the cover back in place. not once did i think a thief had already spotted her.

preppin, surveilling, then comin back to pick them up

^ the last thing to enter my mind. they probably thought i'd let the car sit in the parking lot in hopes of coming back for it later for repair. but, NOPE.

looks like the R is going into hiding for a while. but it's def gon be at the meet!

oh yeah, i'm gonna throw that fuel gauge away. 30 lbs my ***.

the funny thing is i just got my car back last friday after one month in the bodyshop. i've only driven it to last saturday's meet n on my day off's up until yesterday. alarm + autolock wasn't gettin in anyone's way.

*off to schuck's to get an autolock for my gas + brake pedal*

we could meet at a discreet location (maybe a rest area or truck stop off a random exit on I-5 to keep it low key) then cruise to a scenic location? bbq, photoshoot, chill out..?

doesnt ajr have an annual itr meet? ...tho it's not really strictly itr

I'm glad you were able to keep her safe. With that said, we should DEFINITELY keep everything private as you just described. I think everyone that is interested should just post up on this thread and from there we'll have one person PM everyone about the entire meet.

not too sure, but can find out. does anyone know if the ITRCA.com NW group has annuals meets? if anyone has been a member for long on there, some input would be appreciated! (i just recently joined n wouldn't have enough credibility yet)

for sure, this R ain't ready to retire anytime soon! ha ha.

anyway, we'll keep the ideas goin then we'll start PM'n each other about the final plan. i guess it's just a matter of getting the word out for now

yeah, that's true. i'm sure we all personally know a couple ITR owners. other than that, how does the weekend of june 23-24 sound? (sat OR sun)

and um, would someone be able to get somethin started on ITRCA?

June 23-24 would be ideal for me. I've got a liberal schedule so no complaints here. I got the word out to a couple other ITR owners that will either attend, but won't post here to RSVP or will in a day or two.

Let's definitely make the most out of this meet. I'm down to meet some new faces in the scene after being on a hiatus for 5+ years.
