ok so i have a 1998 honda prelude my engine keeps turnin over but will not start when battery starts dyin the car will then want 2 start and it will but as soon as i let go of the key it shuts off.. so i took it 2 honda they said my nignition switch is bad so i bought new one now the car will turn over and not start.... fuses, coil, sparkplugwires and sparkplugs, distributor and the peace inside of it is good any one have a clue what mite be wrong??? honda told me yesturday they cant do much with it and i need come get it...?

 

Have the dealer run your VIN to make sure the ignition switch recall has been done. I would look to the coil. How many miles on the car.

my warrntie is canceld so i gotta pay for it its a new switch so i dont kno the car just made 92thousand but the engine has like 10thousand everything is new on this car expt seats...

 

There is a free recall from Honda on the ignition switch, your car does not need to be under warranty to get this replaced free by the dealers. Have them check if it has been ever done, if not they have to do it regardless of mileage, for free and invoice Honda themselves.

if ur car has a salvage title they wont do it, i just changed mine, car doesnt die, and drives as it used to, im happy i got one ignition switch from ebay, took it apart cleaned it up and got it in. works good

 

they made me buy a nigniton switch lol still the car didnt start..... im relly pissed but honda said they are gouna spend all day today and see whas wrong becuse no they said its an electrical proble,m....!! i spent over 20grand into body n engine work lol i cant give up on it now!!
