doesnt the p06 control the d15b7? (usdm) wouldnt it not work then, on the d16z? i dont know off the top of my head what ecu is for the d16z. hell, for all i know, the p06 will do it. anyway, i know i had the p06 running my stock d15b7 so it seems rational, at least to me, that it might not work correctly on the d16z. just spit balling here. anyone know what ecu should be running the d16z?

yeah the stock ecu for the y8 or the z6 is the p28. You can chip the p06 to work the exact same as a single cam p28 though.

thats what i thought. i didnt think plugging in the p06 "just to see if it runs" would really accomplish anything since the computer is not made to control the d16z.

changing the ecu will not effect the idle much. you should be able to idle with a p06. the only difference you should notice is no vtak.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by TegProject &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">yeah the stock ecu for the y8 or the z6 is the p28. You can chip the p06 to work the exact same as a single cam p28 though. </TD></TR></TABLE>

z6 uses a p28, y8 uses a p2p

you guys need to realize that just because they're all 1.6 sohc motors doesn't mean you can use any computer. The y8 and z6 are pretty similar but do have different timing requirements. So get a p28 and do it right.
