So i've been having this weird problem with my car dying lately. I know its not the battery because i just bought it and when the car dies the lights don't go dim at all. Checked every light and it seems fine. But the car does need a jump start sometimes to get it up.
But today i stalled the car (multi-tasking) and it wouldn't crank up like usual untill i kicked it a bit. But as soon as it started the rpms jumped and then dropped to about maybe 800-1k. then it just *poof* died.
Now i've had the same problem in my accord once and it was the alternator, weird thing is the check engine light came on then but not in my integra. So if anyone knows off the top of their heads what it could be i'd be so thankful. I don't just want to just start tearing **** up for no reason, you know what they say, "if it ain't broke don't fix it".
BTW the car is a 1992 Acura Integra.

Try installing a different battery (something with a charge) and see if it starts. If it starts, run it with headlights, cd player, etc on, and if it dies, its your alternator, otherwise I would take it to your local autoparts place and have them do a starter and electrical systems check.
