Default very low gas milage.. 11mpg

Finally checked the MPG.

Drive under 3k rpm,
Getting 17 MPG

City Driving with vtec 25 to 30%
Getting 11.5MPG...

getting 15 to 18 MPG.
80% I drive with vtec,
Have a chiped ECU, in which I have increased the fueling 1% in high cam after 5k RPM,

The only code I have, 30 which is auto tranny signal code, which is a crome bug, some times comes,

it cant be removed if i rebured the chip,

else i have no codes, every thing is ok,
when i did this swap 2 of my injector got stucked so i washed then WD-40, they become ok.
I dont have any problem with the car. runs gr8.

I have Denso iradium plugs,..
2.25" straight pipe,
chiped P06 with Vtec.
Velocity Stack,

let me know where i can check for the cause.

Thanks.

I have a feeling that the weight of your right foot is to blame.
keep out of VTEC and your mpg will increase a lot.

how about tuning? been done? it makes a difference...

NOTE: I pulled ~10-12mpg on the track my last outing, so 15-18 when in VTEC 80% of the time is not all bad.

No chance, probably that turbonator might help . But, honesly, 30-40 mpg is from driving old ppl speed not high speed driving or in vtec. Getting 30 mpg in vtec (not econo vtec), damn they are sure smoking some good **** or just blowing a whole load of smoke up the ***.

I get 25-27mpg consistantly on my 12:1 2.0L, thats even with a 4.9 final drive.

It is all about the partial throttle tune. I tune a little on the lean side during partials. 15:1-15.5:1

I like to drive too. So I'm definately not 'trying' to be fuel efficient.

so which is it?
if you're pulling 15-18mpg and keeping below the VTEC range most of the time that is bad. I pull 30mpg mixed driving (tuned ITR swap) and I'll bet I average pushing at least once a day. (depending on my mood)

Check your O2 sensor. Tune the car.

what engine do you have? a B16? then go for it.
Anything else it's not a good idea.

Forget getting your car tuned. Run the stock b16 bin file on your ecu. Intake and exhaust aren't enough to need tuning on a stock b16.

Is your friend running a stock b16 with intake and exhaust? Even if he was, every engine is different. There isn't really a universal chip that'll yield the same results on everyones car. Dont waste your time running someone elses bin file. Just run the stock b16 bin and call it a day.
