Default need help on oilpump issue

I have a 91 civic hatch with a b18a1 swap in it. I ordered a rebuilt bottom end offline, and my mechanic installed it. My mechanic had a problem with the timing belt cover fitting. He said he thought the oil pump was different, and thats why it wouldnt fit. He wants to order a 95 and up model timing belt cover, because he says he thinks thats what block i have and the reason it isnt fitting. If im not mistaking didnt the b18a1 only come in the 90-93 integras? I also emailed the company i got the block from, and they told me they use integra type-r oil pumps, and there is a casting rib in the oil pump that rubs the timing cover, and i would have to cut away soem of the plastic for it to clear. Can anyone help me with this problem or give me any suggestions?
