use a back strap-connects the back of the deck to the frame of the car behind the deck, also makes the deck harder to rip out when someone tries to jack you

any link pic or info on this? i know u do that in san diego car audio and tint, but wondering how much is that thing u are talkiin about.. my next method was thinki of just drillin some holes on the inside and bolts and screws.. but that would be PITA to take out and put back in..

go to any stereo shop and tell them you looking for a bracket for a back strap. you screw one side to the back of the deck and then you a self tapping screw on the other end to hold it to the frame.

More info needed....

If its an oem deck, then the bolt holding the deck in place in the rear is missing or has fallen out

If its an aftermarket, then follow this procedure:
1. Carefully pull deck out (wiggle a bit and it should pop out)
2. Remove deck from the box housing it is clipped into
3. put the metal housing back into the deck slot in your dash
4. bend the triangular tabs outward from the center of the housing so that the housing is securely in place
5. Put head unit back in

the other fixes above, while not necessary, you should consider doing anyways. just makes the thing more secure and harder to steal.

from the research I've done, there aren't any good brackets for the integra available. A good one would replace that metal housing with a longer one with a bolt hole on the bottom so that the head unit could be bolted down like the oem radio. Frankly, it amazes me that no one makes a good kit, as out cars are broken into much more frequently than others out there. I plan on custom fabbing a bracket for myself, but you can get away with my procedure listed above.

EDIT: saw you have a jvc... disreguard the oem mention.

i did this, it worked! but only problem is now the "deck" comes out a lil but it still stays in, the casing is firm , but the actual deck slips out, but i just baught chain from hom depot and gonna bolt / washer them to frame so it stays TIGHT and thieves cant jack it

the metal bracket that the deck sits in has tabs that you should be able to bend outwards. this keeps the bracket locked in place and the deck locks into the bracket.

glad i could help man...

I've seen some people get those little aluminum strips with a bunch of holes in them (i think they're used in plumbing - anyone know what i'm talking about?) and strap it too the back of the headunit and back to the bolt that holds the stock radio.

the strips im talking about are about 1.5 cm wide... any length, and the holes are about 1cm thick. you can pick them up at home depot.
