Default Using automatic gauge cluster for manual conversion? 6th gen...

Is it alright to use the automatic gauge cluster when doing a manual conversion? I know one of the parts to get is the manual gauge cluster....but I was told that the wiring is the same for both clusters - so the only thing would be that the automatic has the P R N D4 D3 2 1 bar right? Maybe I'm wrong...

It'll work, I just did a combo cluster thing with part auto, part manual It'll work just fine, I believe Park will be highlighted

What do you mean part combo? Also, is there any way to get the Park light to turn off? I can just buy manual gauge faces and put them on....same difference as switching out the whole cluster. I just don't want to spend $100+ on a gauge cluster if I don't need it. The mileage count would be jacked too.

The manual guage faces aren't going to do anyting different, the piece you want is the manual guage trimpiece that doesn't have the holes for the gear selector.

What do you mean the trimpiece? Could you tell me which number it is on this diagram?

I used part of the guages from the auto and part from the manual, they're the exact same, really the only difference is the gear selector, I'm sure you could unscrew the lights that do them. In your picture it looks like maybe 19?

It has a cover over where there PRND jazz is at so you don't see the empty holes or a light

Can't be 19...that is just a whole trim piece - it won't cover the center portion where the gear selector is. That diagram was supposed to be for the manual, but it looks to be for the automatic. Doesn't really matter that the light is on or whatever the case....would just like it to look cleaner. But since the gauge cluster isn't a necessity, I'll do without it for now.

you can open up the cluster and de-solder the PRNDL lights. the gauge face will still have it but it won't light up

So basically if I buy aftermarket gauge faces, they are going to have a center cutout? So when I get rid of the automatic light, the gauge face will not cover that portion? That is what you make it sound like...
