Yeah, I thought the US Integra motor, 86-88 or 89 was considered a ZC. It's supposed to be worthless, and not bolt into anything easily, but it's still considered a ZC.

You guys are total spazz, the ZC came here in the US in the 86-89 Integ. And it does bolt into any 88-91 civic chassi also 92-95 as well with the use of the EG mounts. There is aftermarket support cause its just a dual cam D16....Next thing you guys will be saying the b16 never came one US soil before the 99-00 Si.

US 86-89 Integra motor (or more precisely 86-87 and 88-89) is D16A1.

The ones that come from Japan, (same motors) could be marked ZC though.
But just from Japan.

There was nothing sold in US marked as a ZC.

The ZC name was only in Japan, not even offered in EDM.. they had the d16a9's

The 88-89 integra WILL NOT bolt in a 88-91 civic/crx or 92-95 civic. The D16a1 has a differnt style motor mount off the front of the motor. Plus the bell housing bolt configuration is for a older style tranny. So it will not mate up. http://www.quickhonda.net accidently built a 1g ZC with the same mount configuration and had to fabricate mounts in his 2g crx to put it in.

The stock d16a1 wouldnt even be worth putting in a 2g crx. 118hp output isnt worth all the trouble.

There are no US ZCs. ZC is a Japanese or European designation that means D16. It came as a SOHC or DOHC 1.6L engine.

The first ZCs came in 85 CRX and Civic Sis and the last were in 2000 Civics, Integras, Domanis and probably some other models.

The US 86-89 Integra D16A1 is similar to the ZC, but so is the D16A6 in the 88-91 CRX. That motor came in the 4x4 Wagovan.
