I am swapping an OBDO JDM B16 in my 89 SI hatch. I have heard some rumors that my 1.6 SI Single cam distributor will work on the B16 if I just cut off a tab on it. IS this true? I know you can use it on a LS but I wasn't for sure on a B16. Thanks for any help

 

probably true cause i know you can use a ls dist on a single cam. but dont take my words for it.

 

yes it will work if you are in a jam and will run ok, but you cant get full timing of 16 degrees it only adjusts to like 12-13 degrees. Its ok to drive on but you will not get the full potential.

 

u can get the full 16 degrees if u cut more of the tab off.. i tried it.
