Default i just blew up my civic...i need help

i blew my bottom end on my 99 si. i went to a local shop and was told that i could use the old jdm b16's bottom end. so i went out and bought a b16. i only needed the bottom so i took off the head and put it aside. after getting to the block and pulling my block out of the chassis, i compared them. they have different hoses and plugs(i expected a few slight changes but not like this). i was wondering if any of you done this kinda motor mix match? any help will be appreciated.

thanks in advance

what year block did you get? if it's a first gen you'll need to swap the thermostat housing. which hoses are you having trouble with? I'm not sure but if your block has a crank angle sensor you'll need to change out the oil pump housing/gear. I drive a EH so I'm not too sure which years use the crank angle sensor maybe one of the guys can help answer that?? also don't be worried about wiring on the block besides the possibility of the crank angle sensor swap all the required sensors or normal operation are there.

i bought a b16a1. i think its the very first b16's that came out. so all i have to do is change out the thermostat? thats what i was worried about... on the older b16 there's hoses on the pipe thats connects to the thermostat housing. i thought that i was going to have to pull out that pipe that runs behind the block. i dont have to do i? is there anything else i should know about other then the crank angle sensor? thanks for the replies guys!

thanks again
