Bike Carbs on a D16
My friend an dI are working on a strange project and have come to the point of needing carbs.
Here's what we have so far for the motor:
D16a6 long block
SRP pistons at about 11.5:1 compression
ported head
looking at a Toda carb cam
D series vacuum advance distributor
etc.
We have been talking about using a down draft carb, but carbs from a CBR could be had much cheaper than a new Holley 350cfm.
Throw some ideas out here, brain storm.
Also, if anyone says to search, you can bite me.
All I've found in the archives is info on Webers and a few other side drafts. No bike carbs.

the problem is that the float bowl on carbs from most 4 cylinder bikes wont work correctly since they have a much more narrow valve angle, thus making the carbs ''stand up'' instead of flat . gas wont go where its supposed to.
i deal with lots of bikes/ carbs everyday.. ill keep an eye out to see if anything would work.
keihin FCR's would work, but they are expensive since they are an upgrade for stock carbs.
