Anyone Here Rally?
Anyone here Rally their cars? I just returned from my second rally event with my EG, and have to admit that it performs awsome. Plus my homemade sway bar braces held up tremendously.
That's something I'd definitely be interested in, but to my knowledge, there aren't many such events in my area.
Can you elaborate on your current setup a bit?

The event is sanctioned by the local SCCA. If your area does autocrossing, you may have a rallycross group, if not...start one.

you can find region information there on who to contact.
And yes, RALLY IN AN EG!! belive it or not, I came in 5 out of 14 racers for the day.
Not bad for a stock D15 huh..
Mods to the car are: AGX's in the rear, ST-swaybar, KUMHO rally Tires, and a nwe clutch.
I was beating A handfull of subarus and a mix of other cars. Until I get new tires, it will be hard to improve much. It was a good test for my sway-bar mrackets too.
Here's another pic..

yeah, stockc springs work pretty well for rally. You don't want to limit your wheel travel (ruts and rocks), and stock springs are usually pretty soft. if you are interested in coming out, check out the local forum at http://www.utahscca.com if you go to forums, you can then click on "RallyX" for more information and dates.
As for other mods to the car, its pretty stock. I have jumped up a Class to Modified Two-Wheel drive (just for competition sakes), which allows me to do anything I want to the car. I plan on B18 in the future, but the 1.5 is holdidng its own as it sits.

Yeah...you could also break a nail, or worse yet..mess up your hair extensions. Im getting flustered just talking about it. I think i need an Evian and a mud bath.
I used to rally just for fun. Theres a dirt oval around here (great, now it sounds like i live where they filmed deliverance) that dirtbikers use. We were able to get cars in there (nobody believed us). We used to use an EF and a tercel. I had a 300zx for a few nights too...we blew a tire eventualy. Then we parked it somewhere and it got towed. It was awful rad, though. It was blue.....had a sticker on the side that said "2 WYCKED" with a lightning bolt.
Rallying is a ton of fun.

They local rally season starts up this weekend near Pittsburgh. I am taking my eg cx hatch with a z6 in it. I am going to put some winter tires on the front and drive the hell out of the car. It should be fun!
If you guys are worried about your paint jobs, most people just put a paiters tape on the bottom half of their fenders to stop the rocks from hurting the paint. As for the bottom of your car, if you drive on any streets...your screwed anyways.

No im not worried about it, i was being sarcastic. I think if you're worried about paint chips in a rally, its kinda like being worried that if your kids sleep over at Michael Jackson's house, they're not gonna get nutritious snacks.
