hard to shift!
lately i've been having to force the car to get into 1st. the other gears are a little rough too. all fluids are good, its not cold and there's no leaks. i'm guessing its the clutch because my wife grinded 1st pretty hard a few days back
. motor is jdm gsr w/ 60K.
clutch? clutch spring? throwout bearing? what other possibilities could it be?
if it's the clutch, how long i can go with this problem or do i need to fix it asap?

your clutch shouldnt go from grinding one gear...are you sure its stiffer or are you just thinking it? you wwould kow if your clutch was going you.. you wouldnt be able to drive it
I think its honda....
I think they make it harder to put into first gear to prevent you from doing it while going speeds higher than 10 mph...
Slow down to a complete stop and try putting it in, if its the same resistance, then its somthing else..
But if it goes in smoothly, its honda...my 95 civic ex is like that too

No, most cars are like that, and most cars = not hondas.
A general rule of thumb on any manual car when you realize that getting it into 1st is a bit difficult while moving is "Don't put it into 1st unless you're completely stopped" - obviously as you get better you can ignore that but MOST 4 cylinder cars have that issue. Some are different, my friend's Maxima slides into 1st as easily as it slides into 3rd or 4th....while moving... I don't know what the deal is w/ that though
. You can be cookin out at 60 just cruising and slip it right into 1st....too bad he totaled it b4 I could pop the clutch in 1st doin 80 (hehe). Nice accident too, he bent the license plate in a perfect arc around the tree he planted it in - hit me up for pix if u don't believe me, it's hilariously dead center
.
@ OP:
Sorry about off topic. She probably bent the 1/2 fork, teardown time

A shift fork?
It's the fork that engages 1st and 2nd.

might be that your flywheel bolts are gettin loose happen to me and when does ****** get loose you cant put into first or second or any with out extra muscle. try bleeding the clutch and if it doesnt go alway then keep on driving it till it snaps on you... but it could be your flywheel bolts...

i suspected it was that. happen to know the part number is? anyways this clutch isnt gonna be fixed for a while so i'm just easy'n this daily driver and hoping nothing goes wrong for about another month or so until i can get enough funds to swap the clutch and all that.
