My d15b7 died 3 days ago from a hydrolock ( Now I really hate CAI)

anyways, I want to swap an engine, I have 1,000 dollars to spend, what do you guys reccomend?

its the d16y7 a direct swap for my honda civic dx 94?

or what about a b18a1??

or should I get the rebuilt kit for the d15b7? its like 375 dollars, this is my daily drive car (I own an s2k) so i need something really reliable and nothing 2 expensive....

any ideas??

If you want a replacement the D16y7 would be good, all you have to do is use your intake manifold and sensors. If you want something with a little more potential then pick up a D15BVTEC, D16z6 or D16y8. Either one is a good choice.

 

if you hydrolocked, you might have bent some valves or a rod. If that's the case, no $375 is going to fix it for you.

 

how much is a d16y8 or d16z6 with low miles??

 

any suggestions or ideas?
