My Gas Sucks!!
Wuzzup. Just wanted to get some recommendations on what I should do next. I've finally got my car (1995 Honda Accord Wagon) back on the road. Its been sitting in the driveway for over 2 years since I've been working on it. The motor is strong. I recently changed the sparks and Plugs (all OEM), but I still gettin like 14 mpg. Any suggestions?
Here's a pic of the work in progress.

That is a thread where someone was trying to learn how to post pictures as well, see if that helps.

Yes I did. That was the first thing I did. I changed the oil, and filter. (also changed the air filter). I determined my mpg like so. (I got 260 miles on this tank of fuel. I recall my tank takes 18 gallons (95 Accord Wagon). 260 / 18= 14 mpg. I guess it wouldn't hurt to change it again. I did have the car sitting for two years. I'm still on my third tank of gas since I started running it again.

Yes I did. They were working yesterday when I logged off, now they aren't. Don't worry, we'll get it worked out.

You have to go by how much gas you burn (between fillups), and not what the tank holds. You didn't run the tank dry, did you? You are pencil whipping your mileage.
like stated above, correct way is to fill up your tank, drive it til its time to fill up again. fill up, and divide the miles you've driven by how much gas they are able to pump into your tank. it wont be 100% accurate but will be close enough.

I recall my tank takes 18 gallons...</TD></TR></TABLE>Doesn't matter. Start with a full tank (zero the trip odometer). Then the amount of fuel that IT ACTUALLY TAKES to fill it back up is the amount you should use to calculate. The accuracy depends on how consistantly you fill the tank each time. If you use several CONSECUTIVE fill-ups, total miles and total gallons, it gets more & more accurate over a longer time.
