i can get gsr rear sway for a decent price but i wanna know is it will work on my car before i purchase it and if its worth putting on.

has anyone ever done this mod? will it directly bolt on to my 92 cx hatch? also will i have to get rid of my rear lower strut bar for clearance purpose?

i asked around and i end up getting different answers like i will need integra lca's or aftermarket ones. i need to drill holes for the brackets. also the other answer i got is that it bolts directly on.

 

You will need integra or after market lower control arms, and yes it will bolt up. This is a very simple and noticeable mod you can do to your car.

 

you will need at the very least integra LCA's, a highly suggested peice would be the rear subframe support, ASR makes one that most people use. without that support bracket i've heard horror stories of the sway bars ripping out of the subframe

Correct w/ lower control arms

 

so i just need to switch out my rear lca's to an integra or aftermarket one w/ the holes?

so what about my dc sports rear lower strut bar, do es that need to come off?

 

dont bother with gsr swaybar, just get an itr

 

if i can get an itr sway bar for the about the same price i can a gsr than ill go with that.

Wirh GSR swaybar you don't need re-inforcement bar.

They should be there.

 

The 92-95 regaurdless of which model there is already bolt ready on the subframe. All you need are the the swaybar backet, D-backet, sway bar, endlink and lca for swaybar.

i did this mod to my 93 coupe, as others stated u only need the hardware, integra lca or aftermarket lca and the swaybar itself. You don't need a reinforce brace for it. Easy install.

the holes on my subframe weren't threaded, I had to get a bolt and a nut to attach it to the subframe.

my 4 dr doesnt have threaded holes, i guess i gotta do the same. one question is any differences between the two holes if u compare the civic to an ITR?

 

there are two types of subframe damage, tore out and pulled out

the backing plates on a asr kit spread the load to a larger area behinda the subframe to elminate the welded nut getting pulled out of the subframe,this is fairly common on dc2 gsr and eg SI or any model which comes with a factory sway bar.honda is aware of this problem thats why the new EK has welded nuts with a build in backing plates

when the subframe tore is not the fault of the reinforcement kit but from the shear force caused by the sway bar. the reinforcement did its job by not letting the bolt pull out,but the next weak link is the crease on the subframe.this crease causes flexing which ultimately leads to the subframe failure
