The GVWR is not the the actual weight of the car, but a total of the car's weight plus maximum allowed weight of passengers and cargo.

Huh?
1. The topic isn't about 6th gens. It's specifically about a 95 Accord EX coupe.
2. No one said anything about racing.

If the GVWR was the actual weight of the car, then my '99 Accord would weigh over 4000 pounds!

It's a family car... Our SOHC engines have more low-end torque than all the DOHC engines available at the time, which equates to better daily-driving. The engines have proved to be more than adequate for anyone not interested in trying to make their Accord fast.

I think he summed that up pretty well as to why it doesn't have a DOHC motor.
Accord's were meant to be a nice car that gets good gas mileage. Not be 2300lbs. and have 200hp.
