A lot of people using Mobil One 5w30 have complained of having to add oil, some more than others. Could it be possible that the missing oil is all going through the PVC valve, because it's so thin, especially if you have I/H/E, because I've noticed more oil missing ever since I've done my I/H/E. If not where does it all go?
P.S. I do drive my car really hard every single day, but still 2 quarts every 3,000 miles is crazy.

of course much of it does go through the pcv system, if you ever take off your intake manifold you will see a stream of oil coming out of the ends, you'd be surprised how much makes it to the intake manifold. Thinner oil also makes it past the rings a bit easier I think , it eventually all burns up regardless of the route it takes. A thicker oil normally burns off at a slower rate from what I have found. Doesn't have much to do with protecting the engine, just whether you mind putting in extra oil between changes. hth.
