Default ASR subframe on 2000 si?

I just read the 99-2000 Si has a reinforced subframe? Anyone hear of this being true? I am getting a 22mm Progress bar for the back, I don't want to break anything.

The Si is not reinforced, it has one of the weakest subframes out of all the civic genderation. I'd recommend getting the ASR if you have the money.

What confuses me, is that I was readyin a pdf file, and it stated that the ASR subframe came with the backing plate welded on already. Are they talking about the EG si or the 2000 EM-1 coupe?

I'm not sure if this is what you're talking about but when using an ASR brace with a 2000 SI you don't have to use the backing plates included with the brace because the SI subframe already has mounting plates welded on for the stock sway bar mounts.

Thanks for the help. I ended up canceling my Progress bar, and got a Beaks type r kit for less that comes with the same diameter ITR sway bar and a reinforcement kit. I hope this is good enough, I would have a hard time dishing out like 300 on a ASR brace. I guess if I tear my subframe I will regret it someday though!
