swap motor or rebuild engine
So i have a 97 del sol vtec with dual cam. It has 281k on it and has never been rebuilt. I was wondering is it better to rebuild the engine or swap motors with the same b16 motor with less miles? if i were to do the swap any of you guys know where i can get a good deal? thanks for the input.
I would buy a new longblock from hmotors online.
Is the tranny in good condition?
Hell, buy a gsr longblock. Either are going to be pretty easy.

I would rebuild your b16, this way you have fresh, new parts.. and if you wanted to this would be your chance to possibly rebuild with aftermarket internals and a tune.

that sounds pretty cool to rebuild the engine becuase i've been leaning towards that as well but where or how do i even start the rebuild? as you can see i ma fairly still new to all these stuff...LIke do i try to do it myself and bring the engine to a machine shop or do i just take it to some place? and whats the ball park cost of rebuilding an engine?
From the sounds of it, It's going to probably cost the same to get a shop to rebuild it as it is to buy a new longblock. You're bottom end may be find you might just need a shortblock. Ask a mechanic what to do.
If it were me, i'd take it as an opportunity to match a b18c1 longblock to that b16 tranny.

I second ek forever guy. Save yourself the time of sourcing all those aftermaket parts for a rebuild and just get you a gsr block, from there build you a poor man type r
