electrical problem, need help please! (searched)
ok, so this is for a 97 civic ...
ok so i get in my car today... and my left HID is arcing... like sorta flickering... and then it comes back to normal... so im thinking its a grounding issue for that... secondly, my speeometer is all messed up... it will just bounce around everywhere (and might sometimes start acting normal)... and thirdly, i noticed that just at idle... ALL of my lights (exterior an interior) are flickering (kinda "pulsating")... what do you guys think this could be? i think all of these problems are related, because they all seemed to occur today

either, bad alternator, bad battery, bad battery cables (most likely ground) or one serious short in the wiring. Oh, and jdmracer12, can I have the girl that's in your avatar?

no CEL... i had the alternator tested, and it was at like 67 amps... which he said wasn't too bad... the weird thing about my gauge cluster is, it'll be all weird bouncing around and then after awhile, it will like come back to normal until i turn my car off and drive it later...
now what could cause the gauge cluster to act all weird and then come back to normal??

ok, alternator is fine... i just bought a new battery (mine was considered "bad" cuz it tested 10.6)...
i had a lot of spliced wires for my sidemarkers, city lights, etc., so i re did all of those connections, soldering, etc., cleaned all of the grounds from the valve cover, tranny, battery (anywhere else?), and then cleaned up the two grounds right behind the headlights...
-my speedometer is still bouncing around everywhere while im driving, if not just sitting at 0
-my idle still sits at like 1500rpm even after fully warmed up
-my lights "pulsate" as im driving (bright/dim).. but they do it sorta rapidly... not slow and looping that might be characteristic of a bad alternator...
what else should i check?
