Yes, they were made but, were rare to come by. Tunerzine has coverage of the JDM coupe. http://www.tunerzine.com/articles.asp?id=170

Why because they're so different than a usdm coupe?

yeah....and when you get pulled over by a cop, there will be no one on the left side when the cop walks up. lol.
also, you can pick up girls on the right side of the street easier....tell them they can get in on the left like theyre gonna drive.

Okay, that link is a poor representation of a coupe from Japan. Iti's just like if you took any modified Civic from the US with a yellow paint job and an H-series and said, "This is what USDM Civics look like." Yes, it could be a USDM Civic, but they didn't come stock yellow or have that swap or all those little parts that they customized the car with.
Coupes from Japan did not come with DOHC engines. They were called the Civic STD (Standard) coupe. They look just about like your average USDM DX coupe with RHD.

huh? besides having a vent pocket, and a different climate control, and being RHD that JDM coupe is the same ******* car as USDM coupe

Yeah I don't follow you're logic.
To me it looks like their coupes are way worse than our coupes.
If RHD's disfunctionality and inconveinience is your basis for it baing "mAd Tyte" then I think you may need to reconsider.

It was sarcastic. JDM coupes look basially the same as USDM coupes, only the wheel is on the other side.
Things that look diffferent than a USDM DX/EX/HX coupe (some items might be optional):
- Right hand drive
- Radio bezel is arranged backwards from USDM bezel
- Center dash vent
- Driver's side dash vent pocket
- "COUPE" badge underneath "CIVIC" badge on trunk
- Side-view mirror design
- Road flare
- Cluster is in kilometers
- Exterior lighting is legal for Japan instead of US
- Antenna is mouted on opposite a-pillar
- Oh-**** handle is mounted on opposite side of roof
- Multiple engine bay parts are on opposite side
- Digital climate control available
- Available foglights for '96-'98 are square instead of round (round clears were only USDM '96-'98 foglights ever sold)
