I have a 2002 honda accord with a f23a5 engine and i was wondering what i could do as far as increasing performance with either an engine swap or a turbo

Do a H22 swap. Its the most horsepower for your buck and reliable. I have a H22A swap in my 6th gen. Mine is a 2000 4dr lx and I love it. I am making right at 200 whp with my motor and bolt ons plus tuning. Turboing the stock motor is not worth it.

The F series motors actuilly react really well to boost. If you piece a turbo kit together yourself, it can be cheaper and more power VS H swap. Although, the H is a good motor to swap in......

i would do the h swap if you want a reliable car. a turbo car takes a lot of maintenance but its really what you like. i had both and i liked both the setups i had.

I had a 5th gen with h22a. I loved it. Go with H22. Don't blow money for no results.

Swapping in a h22 into a 6th gen you wont feel that much difference, plus the h22 weighs more. If he had a 5th gen ide tell him go for the h swap too.

How are you gonna get no results from a turbo?..with the motor he already has plus a turbo is gonna equal out to more HP than an h22 swap..and if he gets it tuned correctly and doesnt run to much boost it will be just as reliable as the h22 swap

Me too. A BIG difference. A stock F23A4 honestly is slow. A stock H22 will pull a lot harder. I feel like I have had this conversation before. IMO, the H22 is the better motor to go with.

It's stupid to say you wont feel the difference from a 60 horse power increase by swapping the h22. H22's gearing is better as well.
