lost one of my dowel head pins for my ls/vtec,which one do i need

Default lost one of my dowel head pins for my ls/vtec,which one do i need

as the title says i lost one of the pins,when replacing the head gasket.i know these are not normal ls/vtec dowel pins becuase the dont downsize.so i take it the person who built this motor drilled the head.anyone have any clue which dowel pin this is maybe ls?

Hmm..i know when i got my head back from the machine shop, they didnt put the dowel pins back in.So i just took the ones out of my tranny and stuck them in the head.I duno if this would work on an ls/vtec tho.

Sounds like a great idea..... Or possibly NOT. The dowel pins are needed in the trans mission as much as they are needed in the head. Robbing Peter to pay Paul is not good advise.

o yes but its easier to find a car at the junk yard with the tranny off than to find one with the head off

eh, one of my hondas has no dowel pins in the tranny. They are def. needed in the head though.
