Default I have a very very stupid question

So, what happens if I try and driveing my car with out my pilot bearing in on the flywheel? I JUST got my transmission back on, and I found my pilot bearing. I feel like a moron. I havnt started it back up yet though.

What do you think will happen? The input shaft won't have any means by which to be anchored to the engine's rotating assembly, therefore allowing it to shift around. That will lead to bearing failure in the transmission within a few miles.

Time to take it back apart. Are you sure it isn't a NEW pilot bearing that came with your clutch or something? Unless you hammered the old one out of the flywheel, it'll still be in there.

Thanks Archidictus. Yeah, I got a new clutch and a fidanza flywheel. I happened to find the pilot bearing when I was trying to find my shift linkage bolts. I looked it up based of the parts number on it (6002rs) and at first it kept bringing up skateboard bearings, any my little bro use to skate board, but my gut told me I fucked up somewhere.

I actually have removed all of my bellhousing bolts AGAIN, and removed my motor mounts. I have found it is easier to remove the tranny when you lower the entire engine some.

Jesus H christ on a po-go stick. I am so pissed. This is like weekend 5 of my clutch replacement and my dad wants his truck back.
