i have a 93 del sol si witha stock 1.6L dohc non vtec now i was wondering what would be the best engine swap for the money. I would like to put a v-tech in but i dont want to have to change alot of stuff at the same time. basicaly i would like a nice bolt in motor with a little more power? any sugestions ??????

Yes, you need a b-series tranny, preferably a B16 tranny because of its shorter gearing to compensate for the no torque.

 

ALRIGHT SO BASICALY GET THE MOTOR AND TRANNY AT THE SAME TIME FROM SAME CAR , NOW BESIDES THAT ARE THERE ANY OTHER THINGS I WOULD HAVE TO GET TO COMPLETE THE SWAP ?

 

NOW I WAS THINKING IF I JUST WENT TO A SCRAP YARD WHAT WOULD MY CHOICES BE OF A CAR TO GET A MOTOR AND TANNRY TO FIT MY DEL SOL , WOULD A LOW 90S VTECH BOTL RIGHT IN ALONG WITH THE TRANNY ?

Then, you'll need axles, an ECU, mounts (depending) and a shift linkage. At least.

Gets better reception than any stupid engine will. Someday I'll take my engine out and swap it for a cordless phone too. 10GHz minimum!!!!

 

i think the vtech phone picks up better signal when reaching about 5500 rpms on a d16y8

 

to go back on topic,

OP: You really need to stay here and do some research before you do anything.

You do NOT have a b16 DOHC non-vtec. Doesn't exist as far as 90's model E chassis go.

If you have a b16 and didn't know you had vtec swapping out just the motor should be a fairly simple task for any wrench monkey.

Please, humor us and spell a little better and watch the caps, it makes the general populous feel like they're being screamed at and thus don't feel obligated to help you.

not trying to jack this thread but I just happen to have a 1995 b16a2 with a 1998 or 1999 gsr tranny bolted up to it. New clutch runs great pm me for more info!!
