best rim and tire combo for speed and show
What size rim is appropriate for racing. eg hb b16a2. right now it has 17s on that rub the fenders when it hits bumps. (bought it that way). i'm thinking about 15s or 16s, anyone know what the most appropriate size would be if i want to take a few tenths off my et?

I have steelies on 1 car and si rims on the other. Both are great, on a low budget.
Id go with some si if I were you, cant go wrong.

15" rims would be ideal for the EG. They're big enough to clear some aftermarket brake kits, and give you plenty of options for tire combinations. Plus, overall, they weigh less and fit the wheel well's much better.
The rubbing is because the smallest tire size commonly available for 17" wheels is 205/40-17, and that size is MUCH bigger than your stock tire size of 175/70-13 (3.6 percent larger diameter). You can buy a much closer match for 15" or 16" wheels.

For your '92-95 Civic:
15" - 15x6 wheels, 195/50-15 tires
16" - 16x7 wheels, 205/40-16 tires
