Default Axle trouble- will not come out or spin after replacement.

Yesterday i replaced my axle and everything went in fine no problems, so today i was driving it and i heard a clicking noise so i went home lifted up the car on jack stands and turned it on and put it in gear at idle so i could hear where the noise was from. Then once i did that i saw the the passenger side cv joint was not spinning but the other side was. So i tried to remove it to see what was wrong and it will not come out of the tranny? This is a b18c engine and stock cv joints. Any ideas to what has happened?

So I'm going to guess that you replaced the passenger side axle? You said you drove the car so I'm going to assume that your axle is in the tranny. Look from the top of the engine bay and make sure that the axles is all the way in. The inner hub should be pretty much against the tranny seal. If it is then I'm guessing your other axles could be bad.

Btw do you have a lsd and the axles you replaced, was it a new one or a used one?

No, I do not have an lsd and I replaced the axle with a new one. It also appears to be all the way in it almost touches the tranny just like it normally would. That's why im so confused as to why it would not spin or come out. So if the opposite side axle is bad it could cause the new one i just replaced not to work correctly?

Why do you think the other one isnt working correctly? The car drives correct? From inside the car you should be able to hear which side is clicking. It is possible to have a defective new axles. I've run into this before also.

Hell, I've had new and rebuilt axles where they put inboard joint cases that were 2x too big on the CV Joint. Put that in and it'd just tear the boot and spin the casing! Lazy *** assembly guys LOL.

Yes the car does drive fine, it seems normal, but i lifted the car up into jack stands and i put it in gear and let it idle in gear and the driver side would spin but not the passenger side that is what has me so confused. Maybe it is a defective axle it is a different brand than what i have used in the past.

there nothing wrong with the tranny. That normal that it doesnt spin. Its a problem with the axles clicking. One of the axles has a bad joint. Just listen to it when your driving you should be able to tell which side it is.

I wouldn't worry about the one side spinning cause the side that will spin the easiest will spin, if you grab the wheel that is spinning then the other side should begin to spin. Sometimes axles are just hard to pop out and this is probably just one of them.

Totally agree. That's an Open Differential for you.

Have you tried using two large prybars, one on each side of the axle hub? Just checking.

I did use a large prybar, but just one on the axle hub. But now after i tried to pry the axle out and their is no more clicking. So now that their is no more clicking im assuming the everything is normal now i hope.
