Default Swapping Odometer?

I'm putting a 95SI cluster into my 93CX and I was wondering how I can swap the odometers? Can someone please post a detailed explaination as to how I can do this? I DON"T WANT TO ROLL THE ODOMETER BACK!

Pictures would also be greatly appreciated. . .Thanks.

why bother? just keep your old one intact and worry about it later...

i did the same thing, only i was lucky and the new one had less miles on it.write down what milage was on it before you swapped it, what the new cluster says, and keep it in a safe place.

That sounds good and all, but I know there is a way to swap out the odometers. There are so many knowledgeable people in this forum, it is hard to believe no one knows how to change out the odometer. Any suggestions would also be appreciated as well.

I was looking at the back of the cluster, and it looks like I could just unscrew all the screws and peel back the electrical tape/plastic. Does anyone know if this is how you start this project?

Unscrew the fasteners and swap the entire speedometer assembly.

or write down exactly what happened on what day, with the milage on both odometers, and the difference between them, and attach that piece of paper to your title. Then if you ever sell the car you have a record of what is with the milage

yeah swap the entire speedo asembly over unless it is like a jdm one where you wanna kepe the kph otherwise it is kinda a pain. There is an easier way. If you take like a toothpick you can actually turn the gears, really slowly, and i stress REALLY SLOWLY, and get the mileage where you need it.

Ok, I found a picture of the back of the cluster. I understand that I need to unscrew the three screws behind the speedo. . .but to actually take the speedo off. . .are my supposed to remove the green looking plastic with all the wires running through it? If so, is there some precautions I need to take before removing this, because I would hate to screw something up electrically!!!

Just unscrew the 3 or 4 screws back there and the speedo will just fall out of the front, trust me, it is that simple, then put in your own speedo with your correct miles on it. I have done this myself, it is very easy, just take your time and be careful on what you do...

I understand how to undo the screws. . . the "green plastic" with electrical wires still holds the odometers in place. Do I need to remove the entire piece of green plastic? Do you guys understand what I am talking about when I say "green plastic?"

Ok ok. . .I am a complete idiot. . .so the entire speedo (including odometer) can be taken out from the front? Oh gosh. . .do I feel like a total jack!

How do you figure, all 92-95 clusters are the same, its just that some dont have tachs.

Yeah, how do you figure. . .I think you are the first person out of 200+HT memebers who have done this swap. Where did you hear this information. Please let me know before I go ahead and do the swap.

Is there a problem with swapping the speedo/odometer from a 93CX into a gauge cluster from a 95 SI
