Default Y7 to Y8 swap question

I currently have a 98 civic dx HB. i just got a Y8 (97) swap, motor tranny, ecu and wiring. Currently i have a header on the dx so i am running a itr cat under the car, like the ex. Now on the ex the 2nd O2 sensor wiring rund through the floorboards and to the under-dash wiring. Now using the EX engine harness, i won't have a spot for the 2nd O2 sensor. I planed to run it through the floor boards like the ex, but an un sure where to tie it in on the harness. Does the DX have the wiring for the O2 there also, like honda used one harness? If not does anyone know the wires i would have to hook into. I have the wiring diagrams, but am having a hard time figuring it all out, they are pdf form and annoying to read. any help would be thank'd.

The EX's and DX's have different floor harnesses, if that's what your question is. But as for the engine harness, all you should have to do is extend the o2 wires from the secondary o2 and run it up to the harness in the bay.

I know in the EX's they use a sub-harness that connects and runs thru the car and all that jazz, but bypass all that trouble and just extend the wires and plug it up. Just use shrink wrap and solder and snap it into the clips already under the car from the fuel lines..

That's what I did... Good luck

well, i already run an extended 2nd O2 sensor under the car like the EX. but my main question is where do i hook up the 2nd O2 sensor since the harness's are different?

If you already have the complete y8 harness in hand... Why not just locate the secondary o2 plug and separate it from the rest of the wires that run into the cabin?

Or just reuse the DX harness and run wires for the v-tec oil pressure sensor, v-tec solenoid, etc...

Do you have the full Y8 harness?

If so than locate the secondary o2 plug on the harness and plug them in. It should be extremely short, and if that's the case than like i said you will have to cut the o2 plug off of the DX o2, extend the wires w/ the same harness cap (plastic part that plugs in) and plug it up to the EX harness...

well, i am going to go look @ the ex dashboark, cause that's where the 2nd O2 sensor plugs in. if i am luck i can trace the wiring to where it plugs into the engine harness by the ecu, and just splice the wires in to the right spot.

Default No O2 on Y8 harness

There is no secondary O2 sensor wiring on the Y8 engine harness. The secondary O2 sensor wiring for an EX runs through the floor near the shift linkage, through the area behind the dash, and into the ECU. You basically need to make your own wires as described earlier and pin it into the Y8 engine harness ECU connector plug.
