'88 Accord LXI. Fairly loud clicking noise from the front, only when backing up. Car passed inspection with no comment. I've been a mechanic(heavy equipment)for many years, but I'm not too experience with front wheel drive difficulties. I'm thinking CV joints or possibly just brake pads moving in their holders? Car drives and stops great, no noise at all going forward at any speed. Thanks.

 

possibly axel. I've seen c-clips on the axel splines twist and go against the splines in one direction or the other

 

Thanks, I'll check it out. How critical is this? Car gets driven maybe fifty miles a week, surface roads mostly.
