Default 89 Tach wire and heater control **** removal

Hi, I'm installing a remote start and I'm a bit confused as to which wire I should be using for the tach wire. I would assume one of the 2 yellow wires would be it. My installation manual tells me to test using AC and look for 1-6v and when tested one reads 0.21 - 0.28 VAC depending on throttle, the other doesn't register above .01v. For the heck of it I tested DC and one lead comes out to 4.2 - 4.9 VDC. Which one should I use or is there a better place to get the tach wire?

My second question is kinda dumb but does anybody know how to remove the heater control *****(circled) without breaking them, I need them off to get the assembly out.

I'm not sure what the remote start control unit needs, however the tach signal is a digital DC pulse from the ignitor.
Those heater control ***** will pull straight off, you might have to give them a sharp jerk.
