Default Ls or GSR/ITR Tranny ???

Currently running Lsvtec with an Ls trans and have the opportunity to pickup a GSR trans

Has anyone seen better 1/4 times just by going with the closer ratio trans, on street tires? If so, what was the difference?

Best 1/4 on $45 Kumhos
14.06 @ 101mph (top of 3rd gear)
2.35 sec 60ft

This is not a track car and I'm probably not ever going to put drag slicks on,
even though I know it would help my 60' times alot.

I was just wondering if a closer ratio trans will improve my ET a few 10ths
or would it be a was of $$$.

My guess is that using the same street tires, it will only help after the 330' mark.

Flame on.....I'm wearing my fire suit

The LS trans has a longer gear, where the gsr is shorter gear transmission..Since your not making no crazy amount of power id buy the gsr..I cant say an exact amount of time you'll gain but it will fit your needs more..

When I had my stock GSR powered hatch I was running consistent 14.2s w/ a best of 13.8 on street tires w/ full interior. This was w/ a GSR trans w/ LSD. When that broke I put in a stock LS tranny and couldn't get better than a 15.3 w/ just the tranny change.

Hope that helps.

LS trans isn't suitable for your power output.
