Default gsr/ef clearances

ill be putting a gsr b18c into my 90crxsi later on in the year(hasportmounts billet)

1.my car right now is 2.25 all the way around, is that to low for this motor?
i hear 1.8 hang a little low or can afford to go slighlty lower if i wanted to?

2. crossmembers need to be modified for any type header?
3. i believe the webbing in the hood , needs to be modified correct ?
4. i want to use a type r or si,gsr trannys(hasporthydro kit) , phsically will they fit?or will it be a real hassle?
5. anything else i should look for?
thanx

you might want to get a less aggressive drop. 2.25" might be pushin it and you might have to worry about bustin your pan.

crossmember needs to be modified in the same way as it does for the b16 swap..which isn't very much at all.

the webbing in the hood MIGHT need to be cut out. not positive though. the clearance isn't really THAT much worse than a b16 swap. whatever you do, don't sacrifice engine height to clear your hood...i.e. shimming the engine down. if you need more clearance, get an SiR style hood for your USDM front, or a complete SiR front end conversion.

yeah the transmissions will fit. people say there's not enough room, but there's bee a couple guys who have easily gotten the Type R tranny (which is the 'biggest' physically because of the LSD and all) to fit. However, they were using the HCP kit from what I understand.

Email this guy named Jon at NC_Rex@hotmail.com he knows a great deal about the GSR/EF swap. Good luck.

I had about a 2 inch drop. It fitted just fine and no problem with the
radious rods. My friend's (B18C5 CRX) has about 2.5" drop and his is fine as well.
We both have Hasport mounts.

2. crossmembers need to be modified for any type header?

If you use Hasport and DC 4-2-1 header, you will not need to modify the cross member.
If you use a 4-1 header, you will have to modify the cross memeber.

3. i believe the webbing in the hood , needs to be modified correct ?

Yes, but only directly above the valve cover

4. i want to use a type r or si,gsr trannys(hasporthydro kit) , phsically will they fit?or will it be a real hassle?

It fits just fine. We went the hard way and converted the CRX to Hydro clutch
but if you get the Hasport kit it should be no problem.

5. anything else i should look for?
thanx
