42r and k series, h2b in sfwd ?'s
Why are the k series guys not allowed to run the 42r, but the h2b is allowed in sfwd and more than likely will be able to use the 42r. Are there turbos that are comparable in size, power, spool time to the 42r that the k series guys can use?

It will be intresting to see how the H2B does this year, i have been a avid fan of H series motors since I got into Hondas years ago... and who knows, the rules seem to change often enough when there is a need a for a revision.

there is no such thing as to lean unless he was towed back to the pits because he blew the motor. if it didn't blew during the pass i would consider that tuned perfectly for that days condition. it may of been a little lucky, but not a fluke.

The H isn't really any more efficient that a properly built B series, which means it'll max out around the same power as a B series with the 42r. That turbo can only provide so much air, the efficiency of the motor is what will determine what the ultimate power output will be with a given amount of airflow.
Ramming air into the inlet of the turbo does help things a bit though...

The K series was rule revision was B.S. but its the way it is and i think we can still make the same power on different smaller turbo's. Its just funny that there has been 3-4 b series cars trap 160+ mph but they keep getting more revisions in there favor its a joke..

mph tells you everything. After the rule change the k-series car, T1 and maxworks all had the same mph. Seems fair to me.

i personally think people where gung ho with the b series for so long cause of no other options really. h series was a option but the tranny was a weak link said by many so no r&d was put into it ......b series technology is old now for this time and day they make good power and are pretty reliable but i think they are maxed out.....it just so happens that the k series (newer technology) and the h2b plates came out about the same time so now their are 2 more options put to the table ...i believe you will be seeing alot more h series motors being run once people see the potential of them matted with a b series tranny i also believe the 42r will be outlawed on them too once they start see the power being made

idk, but my h trannys suck at changing gears above 8500 ish rpms..they can hold whatever kind power u want though.

If you don't have enough brains, determination, or money (in some combination of the three) to go fast with an H trans, you're probably not going to go fast on a B trans either.

yeah i thought it did till i spent some time with my type r tranny.. the r tranny is so much more effortless to get it into gear at high rpm. the h trannys i always had to be very deliberate and make sure i hit the gear exactly right every time or it wouldnt go into gear. and when we changed from the lighter 4 puck disk to the heavier 6 puck disk it went to **** completly... the syncros just arent very good at slowing the main shaft
my type r tranny took 18k miles of 9500 rpm hell from me and still hits the gears like a champ
