hmm yeah si tranny is in shows check engine light when speed-o cable was floping around. not that went away and sped-o works. ecu still flashes code 17. revs up to 2k for 1.5sec then to 1.K for 1.5 sec every 3 groupings of this it stays at 2K for 4 sec then repeates. also when i run it hard and shift rpms stay up at my shift point untill i get into next gear.
i'll take a look at those 2 wires up front talking green and yellow wires? those are hooked up
jdm 88 ef si manual (crxsi) says we do have a vss but donest say where it is.

code 17 is your vss (vehicle speed sensor) there are two 10 mm bolts that hold it in the trans back by the fire wall. take those out and pull up (just don't lose the little pin inside that the gear spins) easy to do
It is in the tranny. CRXBoy blew his old tranny and slavaged it out of there. He will prolly give it to you if you need it. Tommorow ill get you a pic of the tranny pulled and where it is
Good Luck

If code 17 is VSS, which I'm not sure about, then here's what you do.
If your speedo on the dash is working, your vss is working. Reset your ecu, and drive on. You should be good to go.
If the code still comes up witht eh speedo working right, then there's a wire out of place or cut from the cluster to the ECU. Check it out.
