i have searched the topic and i cant find any thing on it okay i have my crx and im putting a b16a in im getting my harness re done by hasport but from what i read i have to have a electronic vss in order to have vtec kick in. can some one please verify this.

no you dont...the only time I switched to an electronic vss is when I put a jdm cluster in my car...

i have a y1 (which came with an electronic vss) and i put my cable vss in there and kept my stock guage cluster.

everything works with no problems
