Default Screwed up! How do you adjust idle?

My Haynes manual is with my tech. Now I can't adjust the idle correctly. Can someone please tell me what to do step by step!

Get your car up to operating temp, shut off engine and disconnect the IAC Valve connector. Start the engine, you may have to give it a little gas and slowly back off to keep it from stalling, now you can adjust the idle from the screw on the TB (Spec is 500 -/+ 50 for h22/23 and 700 +/- 50 for f22 I think). When you are finished turn the car off, reconnect plug and reset the ECU.
