EFISYSTEMS ECU....Anyone?
So has anyone ever used this setup, it seem s a little old, but has alot of little things that are worth while, especialy since i picked it up for $50. Anyone ever ran one of these or know anything about it? Any info is appreciated.

this is usually called a PMS, never actually seen it on a honda but i know my buddie had it on his mustang he liked it , seemed to work well for him
I ran this on my crx when it was supercharged. Works well. Utilizes a GM 3 bar map sensor. You can purchase windows software to program the unit with that gives you much more flexibility. You got a deal for $50.
I've used it on a turbocharged Integra. It works well but it does need to be tuned every time the weather changes atleast on the car that I played with.

Yalls can trash it all you want, but for it's time, it worked. Jason ran mid 11s with it on his turbo set up back in 99-00. I ran high 11s with my supercharged setup using it. With the windows software, it wasn't half bad...then again tony, isn't FAST junk too?

yeha i had that PMS set up on my mustang back in like 1998 i had a good sized blower and needed some pretty beefy injectors for that year and that was the best way to utilize it.
but i do have to agree with tony on the s100 deal, they are pretty cost effective, but you would need an s200 to tune on your own and some rom editor software but for 50 bucks its a darn good deal IMO

We can live in the stone ages if we want, it worked for them back then....
Fact of the matter is, there's tons of very inexpensive options for hondas that are WAY better systems. We ran 9's on a Gen 6 DFI, would anyone in their right mind run that today?
FAST is "junk" compared to some systems, but it's light years ahead of the PMS system...
People have gone 10's on an FMU, would you do it today?

I'm sure you'll agree that just like the PMS is not up to par with what's available today, the old FAST box is not up to par with the XFI.
And if the XFI box was up to par with what's available, you wouldn't have to have so many different systems on a race car. Boost control, shift control, and datalogging can all be in one unit....
You can't just look at things and say well the fast cars have this, it's the best. I believe Bergenholtz is going just as fast with a different brand ecu and a little less factory R&D. Bottom line is that the GM race cars are built very well, they will go fast on any ecu, but it doesn't mean they couldn't go faster with something else. When it comes down to it, the Pro FWD cars have a different system to pick up in all the places where the XFI is lacking.

When did i say it was junk? When did i say you have to run Motec and M&W? Majority of what i sell is AEM and Hondata, because those are the best computers for most of my customers. You guys are being ridiculous. I said the PMS was garbage, and i stand by that.
I had a FAST in my DA back in the day, it's a very basic fuel injection computer, and in it's time, it was decent. It doesn't even compare to Hondata by todays standards.
