Theres a UK ITR in CW at a second hand car dealer near me, its a 1999 model and bone stock. I went along and spoke to the dealer about it and he told me that it needed an engine, so i asked what happened to the original, he told me that a guy bought the car in early 2001 and drove it extremely hard every time he got into it, but the ******* never checked the oil levels and the sump ran dry, head warped and craked, melted pistons 3 & 4 and generally phucked up the whole engine. the car was left to the dealership it was bought from and estimated repairs were quoted at £4500stg which is around $6000US, a new engine is £5000 so the guy who owned it decided he didnt want to spend that kind of money and traded the rolling shell with busted engine for a new car. So now the car has been lying in this guys car lot for about 3/4 months and no one is buying. I'm trying to do a deal to part trade plus cash my stock integra JDM Si front seats for the red recaros, but the dealer wants to leave it a while in case someone would buy it.
So now i have some questions for ITR owners....
(1) I can get a 1995/96 JDM SiR B18C1 engine for approx $1200, can i use the ITR manifold and T/B with this engine, also would an engine seizeing damage the cams/valves/springs?
(2) If i dont go tha above route what parts do you reckon would be salvagable from the ITR engine if i were to buy it? Would the head warping damage the valve cover?
(3)If this guy were to find a buyer for the whole car and the buyer wished to buy a new engine from honda, what parts come along with the engine, does I/M T/B come as part of the package?
I'll probably have to wait a while to see what the dealer is going to do, sell the car whole or break it for parts, but i really want the red recaros, when i spoke to the dealer i did ask him about the seats, he asked me what i reckoned the seats were worth, i had a car magazine in my car and showed him a red recaro seat (dont know which style/model) for £350stg ($500), and he believed me so if he does wish to sell the seats i should get them as part of a trade for my own fairly cheap (under $500!!!)
I cant believe someone with an ITR was so stupid as to never check oil/fluid levels, but apparently this guy was a spoilt ***** that got his parents to buy the car for him and all he thought he ahd to do was drive it....well hopefully this idiots loss will be my gain!

the manifold won't fit. the TB does on the manifold so it doesn't matter, though.
sounds something like the toyotoa dealership did to us. had a old 4runner, got it serviced, they start up the car and run it around.. someone forgot to put oil back in the car
well at least we git a new 4runner

I would buy the car...if it's cheap, that is..
I would put nothing less than an ITR motor in it though.
All you have to buy is the longblock. Look around, I'm sure that there is someone selling one.
You can re use all the stuff on your motor (tb, valve cover, im...etc).
I think it would be a good deal if the price is right..
