My ITRs red valve cover needs a respray. I need the wrinkle red paint and some paint remover but what type if any base coat do I need

 

buy the appropriate primer for the paint you buy. pretty basic if you have ever painted anything before.

 

Where do you get the wrinkle red paint?

Also I hear many different methods to either putting on grease to just sanding the raised letters on the valve cover after painting. Whats the best method for this?

 

I think the vaseline would be the best. then just sand with 1000 grit after it was baked.
