i recently called ground control for help with my spring rates and they have suggested that i run an 8" 380lb spring in the front and a 7" 420lb spring in the rear with koni yellows for my application. the car is a 95 del sol d16turbo. its uses are daily driven everyday to school/work and my weekend drag warrior. how do these rates sound? how bad will a 420lb rear spring be daily driving. my goals are to daily drive the beast spiritedly and pull good 60' times at the track. any suggestions or opinions are welcome.

 

I daily drive my 00 GSR with 400 lbs/in springs front and back. The ride is tolerable once you get used to it, though girls complain that they need a sports bra to ride in it. The Integra is also much heavier than the Del Slow, so expect it to be even firmer than a similarly sprung heavier car.

 

I have 450f/400r GC's with Koni yellow shocks and the ride is way smooth. Compared to my previous setup of Skunk2 sleeves & KYB AGX shocks...it rides amazing.

 

wheelbase is a lot different too. makes a big difference.

explain what you mean by this, how so?
so does 380/420 seem good or should i go with something different?

 

think center of gravity and leverage.

 

this months sport compact mag dear dave Q&A on page 26 could help you answer your spring rate question, go read it, it may help you. those rates sound pretty good for what your looking for, maybe not so much the 60 ft times but they will still be better than stock. i belive omnis rear drag coilovers have 18k springs which would be way to stiff for a daily driver, unless you can deal with that

 

i don't think i could deal with 18k rear springs, thats over 1,000lbs! besides drag racing and minimizing front to rear weight transfer on launch, what are the benefits if any to running a stiffer spring in the rear?

 

post your corner weights for the best spring setup reccomendation.
