Injector code AGAIN!
My ECU is throwing an injector code. I have a stock 89 hatch DX with an auto tranny and that lame *** DPFI. A couple of months ago it was throwing this code and I took apart the throttle body and both injectors were spraying and it looked like a good clean spray. I reset my ECU and it went away. Now it is back. My car doesn't feel like anything is wrong in the way it drives, what's the deal????
Any help would be sweet. I have ran seafoam and lucas oil stuff to try to clean the injectors, doesn't look like any luck.

If you're getting a code 16, it is because the electrical path for the injector circuit(s) has been interrupted. That code has nothing to do with how well the injectors are spraying or not. Common causes are electrical connectors and wiring, and even the main relay. The interruption can be brief enough that you don't notice a performance drop, but long enough to trigger a code. Code 16 won't cause your ECU to run open loop or reduce your performance. If it doesn't occurr again for several start/run cycles, the code will reset itself. If your wiring/connectors look good and tight I would suspect the main relay.
Wait... So you are saying that if for a brief second there is a disturbance it will throw that code even if it doesn't happen again?
My main relay was crapping out on me. I resoldered it and haven't had any problems with it since. Maybe that has something to do with it. Thanks.

A brief interuption will set the code. The code will remain until several start - run cycles are completed, and then go away unless the problem occurs again before that.
