90 Accord, won't start?
I was just offered a 90 Accord, for free. Since the price was so good, I just couldn't refuse. I was told it would need a starter. When I drove it from where it was parked to where I have it now, we had to pop the clutch to get it running.
It ran that night (Wednesday last week) for over an hour, and drove about 40 miles. As far as I could tell it did not seem to have any problems.
Today I put a starter in, but it still won't start. I can hear the starter is working, but the engine just won't run. I tried some starting fluid to see if that would help get it going. It got it closer to running, but it still would not turn over and go.
Can anyone offer some suggestions on things that might be preventing it from turning over?

The only vehicle I have driven with a clogged fuel filter didn't seem to have much trouble starting. The problem was the filter couldn't flow as fast as the fuel was being consumed, and it would stall after running for a short time. Given time to drip through again, it would start fine after sitting for a while. I'll check the filter out, but I'm not sure this is the problem here.
The battery was borrowed from another car. This other car has been, and continues to start fine with this battery. I don't believe I mentioned it in my first post, but we also tried jump starting it from another car.
I'll pull the alternator this weekend or early next week and have it tested, but I also doubt this is the source of the problem. When I drove it last week, it ran for about an hour and didn't seem to lose power at all. The lights did not dim or fade at all. There were no check engine, battery, alternator, or voltage, lights on.
