i am going to replace the bearings in my altenator but i dont know the honda number because it is off an obd-0 b16a and it altenator is different looking than my obd-0 altenator off my LS i was wondering if all b-series altenators use the same bearings.

the only reason i am wanting to do this is because it is making a whining sound while it is running and i am pretty sure it is the altenator because i havent had much luck with them from hmotorsonline and i was just going to see if that would help or not

I believe mine is doing the same thing, sounds like air through a cracked windown in the cabin. I havent gotten around to changing it yet. Is that similar to what your experiencing? sounds like a ssshhhhh wining in the engine bay on that side? I'll post up if I get to it before you

 

sounds very similiar i knwo it is coming from the altenator because my buddy got a d15b and his made the same sound until his locked up and now he has a rebuilt one on it and it works like a champ and is quiet as all get out
