Can someone tell me if my pistons are alright (pics)
Well i did a mini me a few months ago (d16z6 head on a d15b7) and last week i noticed a pretty nasty valve tap (or sounded like one) and I took the head off and I noticed marks i guess you could say from the valves.............Now what im wondering is..........are those pistons ok? i plan on getting the head rebuilt

the 92-95 head gaskets come metal too. i remember getting it for a customer from the dealer. i know it depends where you buy it. same goes for the exhaust manifold. none of that felpro crap
Definately get the head rebuilt and check to see if any of those valves are bent. I bet they are.
As for the pistons, I'm sure you could smooth them out and use them, but you can pick up used pistons/rods that are in perfect shape for like $20. I would just do that instead if I were you.

No. They are PM3 non-VTEC pistons with smaller and closer valve reliefs and he is using a VTEC head.

Just save yourself the headache later on down the road and just get new ones or used ones that are in better shape, i mean you already have the motor open.

if you put the timing on correctly this time it will be fine. ran into this on a customers car . car can in not running and he said he just replaced the timing belt himself. i think he is still driving on the same motor as far as i know.
