Default Need help choosing right speakers

Hello all, I have a 95 wagon and it currently has the newest Alpine head unit installed. The CDA-9885. I need to look for some decent speakers that I can run off the head unit (with the intent of upgrading to an external amplifier in the future). It's got 18Watts per channel.

The music I mainly listen to is death/black metal and hard heavy metal. Bands like Suffocation, Dying Fetus, All That Remains, Diecast, and old school Metallica. For death metal if you haven't heard of it, think of the music Korn/Slipknot make and multiply it 20 times. It's mostly guitar riffs, lots of drumming and some bass...

My budget is well, like most people....small. lmao. I'm not looking for $300 per pair because I'm not doing SPL competitions. I want something that I can really enjoy without totally making me broke.

Let me know guys...

I was thinking about the Boston Acoustic RC-65 shallow mounts or the Alpine SPS-17C2s....I can get the Alpines for $70 right now....$30 cheaper than Best Buy....

OK. A source told me that he spoke directly to Alpine and they said that running the Alpine speakers off the Alpine h/u without external amplification will DESTROY the speakers. I can't have that. I will be going to external amps but not anytime soon. So I need something that can take "low-power" and with room for added power when I do add the amps.

LOL...

Running components off deck power won't destroy them, however, they won't perform to their full potential without running an amp...

However, I can see where they're coming from... Prolonged exposure to distortion due will damage speakers, and that distortion usually results from an underpowered deck being turned up louder to acheive the perceived volume to the listener...
