Default TuRbo hp

i have a gt28r planing to do a mini swap with my y7 to y8 but was wondering if i can break im my motor with the turbo on..kinda new to this but planing to hit 300whp with vitaras..any suggestions on wat i would need..thanks

Yes.. but just make shure you do the oil changes and dont rod it for a while.

does the z6 head fit rite onto the y7 block..and does it matter if i get a y8 or not..

just do a full z6 swap, saves headaches

im sure you can break the motor in with the turbo on, just keep the boost at 0-5 psi and it should be fine

Or, you could avoid that trouble all together, and simply take the kit off (or heres an idea, if its not already on, leave it off the begin with) until the motor is broken in.


I'm not really sure what your method of breaking in motors is, everyone seems to do it differently, but some people like to break it in hard. You won't be able to do this with a turbo kit installed on the car.

so the z6 would be different then the y8 then rite..why would it save headaches and also if i run it w/o the turbo that means i have to put stock parts on and run on them for 500-1000 miles then take it off and put on the turbo, i don't have the new turbo on yet but i might have to buy some stock parts.....thanks

Im starting to get confused on what you're trying to ask here.

You are wanting to break in your new motor with a turbo kit on?...sure, you'll be fine. What motor are you going with, you've mentioned like 3 motors in this thread...

oh ok i have a d16y7 planing to do a mini either with a y8 or z6 don't know yet..anyone knows wats the best and easiest..also yea asking if its okay for me to put on the gt28r turbo while breaking in my motor..meaning new pistons,rods,bearinds,honed,notch,bored,deck you know all the good works and is it safe with the turbo on..
